Our Assessment Services

At NeuroDiverse Child Psychology, Kimberly provides neurodevelopmental assessments to help families better understand their child’s unique profile of strengths and support needs.

Our assessments may explore areas such as:

  • Developmental – understanding overall growth and milestones

  • Autism – exploring social communication, sensory differences, and identity

  • ADHD – looking at attention, focus, and self-regulation

  • Cognitive – understanding how your child thinks and learns best

  • Learning – identifying differences in literacy, numeracy, or academic skills

  • Behavioural – exploring patterns that may impact daily life and relationships

Assessments are not about labelling or limiting a child. Instead, they offer insight, guidance, and practical strategies that can support families, schools, and communities to create environments where children can thrive as their authentic selves.

How a Psychologist can Support Families through Neurodiversity Assessments

Every child thinks, learns, and experiences the world in their own way. A psychologist can work with families to explore a child’s developmental profile and better understand their individual strengths and support needs. This may include assessments for autism, ADHD, learning differences, or other forms of neurodivergence.

Through assessment, a psychologist can:

  • Highlight your child’s unique strengths and abilities – recognising the many ways they contribute and succeed.

  • Offer insight into their experiences – helping families and schools understand how your child learns, communicates, and interacts.

  • Support access to adjustments and services – ensuring your child has the right environments, tools, and opportunities to thrive.

  • Provide strategies and recommendations – tailored to your child’s needs, while celebrating their identity and individuality.

The aim of assessment is not about labelling or limiting a child, but about opening doors to understanding, acceptance, and support so they can flourish as their authentic selves.
